About Kelly

Meet Kelly, a dedicated and compassionate Registered Clinical Social Work Intern licensed in Florida. With a diverse background and extensive experience in the helping profession, Kelly is well-equipped to provide a unique and personalized approach to therapy.

Kelly's journey began over a decade ago in South Korea, where she provided aid and support to disenfranchised populations, including North Korean defectors and orphans. During her time in South Korea and South Asia, she passionately advocated for equality, fairness, and justice for individuals, families, and groups from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds.

Upon returning to her home country, Canada, Kelly continued her work in the helping profession, assisting students as a recruiter, counselor, and program administrator at the University of Windsor's School of Social Work. Motivated by her commitment to empowerment, mental health, and overall well-being, Kelly pursued and earned a master's degree in clinical social work (MSW) from Walden University after relocating to the United States.

Having experienced life as a military spouse, Kelly possesses a profound understanding of the challenges associated with military service. Consequently, she specializes in providing support to individuals, couples, and families facing the impacts of family instability, post-traumatic stress (PTS), anxiety, depression, communication breakdowns, and addiction.

Kelly's therapeutic approach is far from rigid; she rejects the notion of a "one-size-fits-all" method. Instead, she creates a safe, judgment-free space for clients to share their stories, fostering trust in the therapeutic process. Through this open environment, Kelly helps clients explore various therapeutic techniques, including EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), strength-based therapy, solution-focused techniques, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness, to discover what best suits their personal growth, fulfillment, health, and empowerment.

With experience in providing trauma-informed treatment to individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) and comorbidity, Kelly collaborates with families, probation officers, and courts to support clients' journey towards sobriety. She has also worked extensively with women and children experiencing homelessness, offering counseling, case management, and resources to address diverse psychological and socioeconomic barriers.

In her leisure time, Kelly enjoys weightlifting, exploring new restaurants with her husband, indulging in binge-watching her favorite television shows, and embarking on adventures with her young daughter.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself or your family, Kelly's warm and understanding approach will guide you on a journey towards healing and growth. Reach out to Kelly today and take the first step towards enhancing your well-being.
