Tameca on Hope & Serenity Health Services, LLC
Tameca N. Harris-Jackson, PhD, MSW, LCSW, Therapist & Certified Sexuality Educator (CSE)
Founder & Director, Hope & Serenity Health Services, LLC
I began my career in social work serving primarily as a clinician to youth and families in the Baltimore/DC areas. In 2012, I left this field to teach full-time in the university setting. My goal was to give back on the macro-level by training future social workers to go out and do the amazing work of uplifting people and communities. I fully enjoyed this work, but toward the middle of 2017 I noticed things began to change. In my interactions with college students, community partners, friends, and colleagues, more people were expressing that there was a need for more mental health professionals that provided open, supportive and healing environments. A place where people could come, without judgement, and share who they are, who they desire to be, and receive the support necessary to navigate the complexities of life. As an educator, this was exactly how I approached my classroom environments - open and supportive. And as a former clinician, this was always how I approached my work with every individual, couple, or family. Hence, in late 2017 I decided it was time to get back to my original work - getting back into communities and providing genuine hope, care, and support. Hence Hope & Serenity Health Services, LLC was born.
