About Dr. Tea
Whether you are feeling stuck in your romantic relationship, craving deeper (or better) intimacy, aiming to heal past traumas, or simply yearning to feel alive again - welcome. You’ve found your therapist.

Hi! I'm Dr. Tameca N. Harris-Jackson, also known as Dr. Tea (for my love of tea!), and I am the founder and Owner of Hope & Serenity Mental Health Counseling and Wellness Center in Maitland, Florida.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Florida, Virginia, & Washington State) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Florida and Massachusetts). I earned my PhD in Human Sexuality from Widener University, a Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland-Baltimore, and a Bachelor's in Counseling with a concentration in Women's Studies from Old Dominion University.
I am also a Sex Therapist and an AASECT-Certified Sexuality Educator. I have over 20 years of experience helping women, individuals and partners reclaim their joy, passion, and power.

What You Can Expect Working With Me
I operate from an empowerment (or strengths-based) perspective. This means, I'm not asking what's "wrong" with you. Instead, together, we are exploring and identifying:

-
The great things about you (if you can't see it, I promise I will help you find it!),

-
The pains that have formed your life and perspective,

-
Your overall health and wellness (I am holistic in my approach and believe that physical health impacts mental health and vice verse), and

-
What works best for YOU to live a life that feels purposeful, meaningful, aligned, and free (there are no cookie-cutter approaches here)
Why and How I Do What I Do

My journey involves much determination, life experience, and study. I consider myself a "small town girl" who grew up with lots of curiosity and desire to help others. This led to consistently creating safe spaces for people to feel seen, heard, and supported.

I am truly passionate about what I do and consider it an honor to journey with many on their road to healing.

When we work together, I will not rush your process. I meet you where you are and we travel this road of healing together.

Along the way, there will never be any judgement. Only support, care, and authenticity as you take one of the most important and vulnerable steps of your life.

Along our journey, I will often blend a variety of therapeutic modalities - nurturing the ones that work best for you. This may include:

-
A psychodynamic approach: Journeying to your past to explore how it impacts your present

-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Exploring and challenging thoughts that impact behavior

-
Narrative Therapy: Externalizing the "problem" and supporting you to be the author of your story

-
Relationship Therapy: Supporting you and/or your partners in developing a healthier and more satisfying relationship

-
Sex Therapy: Supporting you with information and techniques to enhance pleasure and intimacy in your life
In addition to the above (and many other modalities that may be included), I may also integrate somatic, or mind-body wellness practices, such as mindfulness, breath work, energy work, yoga therapy or other integrative wellness strategies to help optimize your wellness goals and outcomes. After all, we are not a one-size-fits-all practice, as we believe there are many roads to healing and the best one is the one that works best for you.

I am also a proud LGBTQIA+ inclusive and affirming, kink-, poly-/ENM- aware provider. In my office and my practice, we welcome and support all on their healing journey.

When I am not seeing clients or leading one of my retreats, you’ll likely find me traveling, sipping teas, reading, enjoying hot yoga, or indulging at one the best vegan spots I can find.
