About Grace

Meet Grace, a compassionate and dedicated Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern licensed in the state of Florida. Grace specializes in providing personalized counseling to individuals seeking support and growth. Her journey towards becoming a therapist was guided by a series of clues in her life, pointing her towards her true calling – helping others on a deeper level. Her diverse background in customer service, job recruitment, and human resources has enriched her understanding of human dynamics, making her uniquely qualified to address a wide range of mental health concerns.

Having graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida State University in 2010, Grace's thirst for knowledge led her to pursue a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2021. This comprehensive education equips her with the latest therapeutic techniques to empower her clients on their journey to healing.

Grace has extensive experience providing individual, couple, and group counseling to adults in various settings, including higher education and private practice. Her expertise spans an array of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, identity development, multicultural concerns, LGBTQ+ issues, suicidal ideation, personality disorders, stress, career exploration, low self-esteem, anger management, athletic performance, sexual assault, and trauma recovery.

A significant portion of Grace's research has been dedicated to treating survivors of sexual assault, assisting clients with suicidal thoughts, and exploring how culture profoundly impacts one's perspective and mental health, particularly within Asian American cultures.

Embracing the philosophy that each person's journey is unique, Grace tailors her therapeutic approach to suit the individual needs of her clients. By drawing from a diverse range of evidence-based methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, positive psychology, reality therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, she crafts a customized plan to facilitate lasting change and growth.

Grace strongly believes in a multicultural approach, recognizing the importance of understanding each client's background and experiences. This fosters a nurturing environment where clients feel heard, valued, and supported on their path to mental wellness.

When Grace isn't dedicating herself to helping her clients, she cherishes time with her two beloved dogs, Doak and Bowden. Her adventures with her spouse in trying new restaurants and experimenting with recipes keeps her life vibrant and fulfilling. In her leisure moments, Grace enjoys reading by the pool, indulging in captivating true crime podcasts, and exploring the excitement of local theme parks.
