About Dr. Taylor

Dr. Taylor is a provisionally licensed psychologist specializing in athlete mental health, Black mental health, college student mental health, mental health & masculinity, and mental skills/sport psychology/high performance.

Dr. Taylor is a native of Central Florida and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Florida State University, Master of Science Degree in Experimental Psychology from Georgia Southern University, and Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University. She completed an American Psychological Association-Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology at Oregon State University's Counseling & Psychological Services with an emphasis in Sport Psychology.

Dr. Taylor is passionate about social justice. As a clinician, she believes in the importance of supporting individuals to feel empowered and free to be themselves. She approaches the therapeutic relationship as an advocate and supporter, determined to help individuals meet their goals and equipping them with the tools necessary to live unapologetically as they are. Throughout the therapy process, Dr. Taylor is committed to building relationships that are authentic and caring.

Dr. Taylor's therapeutic style brings in components of Relational-Cultural Theory, a relationship-centered, culturally-oriented form of therapy, in addition to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, an evidenced-based treatment often used to treat depression, anxiety, and trauma. Her ultimate goal is to provide high quality, multiculturally-competent, trauma-informed care and cultivate more diverse, equitable, and inclusive spaces for all - with warmth, empathy, and an open mind. Clients working with Dr. Taylor can expect to focus on improving their well-being and functioning by equipping them with the necessary skills to overcome mental health and performance-related challenges. Dr. Taylor is currently serving the following populations: young adults/college-aged students, athletes, and high performers (including but not limited to elite-level athletes, artists, creatives, business executives, and more.).

In her free time, Dr. Taylor enjoys spending time with her community, traveling, attending sporting and arts events, and loving on her dog-daughter, Sophie Bella. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Dr. Taylor values vulnerability, transparency, and authenticity. One of her life philosophies or mottos is "live out your truth, no matter what that looks like,” and she strives to show up as her whole, authentic self in all areas of life and empower her clients to do the same.
