I'm So Glad You're Here!

I am Meggie, a Master’s Level Mental Health Student Intern from Stetson University in DeLand, FL. I understand that transitions and life changes are natural and inevitable parts of our lives. They can be both exciting and challenging. Whether it is starting a new job, finishing or switching schools, moving to a different city or country, entering a new phase of life, or experiencing a major life event, transitions can bring a mix of emotions and adjustments.  Especially in those times, it can be helpful to have someone helping you sort through those emotions and assist you in the process of embracing the change. I would be honored to be this someone.

I can support clients who are located in Florida.

About Meggie

Meggie grew up in Germany and was a dedicated student and athlete, competing in triathlons on a national level. She then moved to Florida to continue receiving her bachelor’s degree in chemistry and health Sciences while running Cross Country for Stetson University. Being an international student-athlete herself, Meggie discovered the hardship female athletes are facing and the obstacles that come with being an immigrant.

Meggie works with an eclectic approach by drawing interventions from different theoretical orientations and tailoring them to the individual needs of her clients as she acknowledges that there is not a “One Size Fits All” modality for every client. Her priority is providing a safe space for clients of all cultural backgrounds while also being attentive to cultural differences.

By working as a Health Promotion Specialist at Stetson University for the past 2.5 years, Meggie reinforced her appreciation for a holistic approach to wellness and is well aware of the various areas that constitute our overall well-being and life satisfaction. As a Health Promotion Specialist, Meggie also gained experience working with students. She strengthened her skills in having difficult conversations around all topics surrounding health and wellness including sexual health, alcohol and other drug use, and mental health.

When Meggie is not studying or working with clients, Meggie enjoys riding her bike, going on long walks with her dog Lotte, or doing something creative.

As a master's-level student intern, Meggie works under the direct supervision of Dr. Tea.
