Hi!

I’m Mahtaab Manekia, a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with a Master’s degree from Stetson University. I am certified in Gottman Level 1 and Prepare/Enrich, and I often integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and mindfulness into my work.

I enjoy working with adolescents, couples, and families, with a passion for helping couples strengthen communication, deepen connection, and build resilience. Coming from a multicultural background, I value working with clients from diverse walks of life. I do this work because I want people to live life to their fullest potential, and nothing is more meaningful than seeing a client discover their “why.”

I am registered to support clients in Florida.

About Mahtaab

Meet Mahtaab Manekia, a dedicated and compassionate Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern based in Florida. Mahtaab earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Stetson University and is certified in Gottman Level 1 and Prepare/Enrich. She also brings her experience as a certified yoga instructor into her practice, integrating mindfulness techniques to support emotional awareness and holistic growth.

During her internship at a private clinic in DeBary, Florida, Mahtaab gained valuable experience working with individuals, couples, and families, primarily supporting clients with relational challenges. She also spent time in her home country of Tanzania seeing clients, where she deepened her commitment to providing accessible mental health care and strengthened her ability to work across cultures. These experiences continue to shape her passion for serving diverse communities with compassion and respect.

Mahtaab has a special passion for helping couples—both engaged and married—strengthen communication, deepen connection, and resolve conflicts. Her therapeutic approach centers on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps clients address the root causes of relational issues and “peel back the layers” for meaningful, lasting change. She also incorporates mindfulness techniques to help clients manage stress, increase self-awareness, and build emotional regulation skills.

She is particularly drawn to working with adolescents, couples, and families, believing that strong relationships are the foundation for healthy family dynamics and resilient children. Coming from a multicultural background, she values and respects working with clients from diverse cultural, racial, and spiritual experiences, creating a safe and affirming space for exploration and growth.

She does this work because she wants people to live life to their fullest potential, and nothing is more fulfilling than witnessing a client understand their “why” and take steps toward meaningful change. Mahtaab believes that relationships are at the heart of individual and family well-being, and by strengthening these connections, clients can cultivate resilience, growth, and lasting fulfillment.

Mahtaab practices under the supervision of Dr. Tea.
